Nanaimo Clippers forward Dylan Kinch, Okotoks Oilers forward Jackson Rowland and Clippers forward Luke Lavery have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the week.
1st Star of the Week – Dylan Kinch (F) – Nanaimo Clippers
Kinch recorded seven points in two games last week on a pair of goals and five assists.
The Clippers forward started the New Year off strong as he recorded four points (one goal, three assists) last Friday, leading the Clippers to a 5-1 win over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
Kinch followed that up with another multi-point performance, recording a goal and two helpers in a 6-4 loss to the Coquitlam Express on Saturday.
The 20-year-old from Calgary, Alta. is tied for first in team scoring and tied for sixth in league scoring with 38 points in 31 contests.
2nd Star of the Week – Jackson Rowland (F) – Okotoks Oilers
Rowland led the way offensively for the Oilers last week, recording six points in three games, including four goals, in a trio of wins.
After recording a goal on Tuesday and a goal and a helper on Wednesday in back-to-back games against the Blackfalds Bulldogs, Rowland had his most notable game of the week on Saturday against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, where he recorded two goals and one assist in a 4-1 Oilers victory.
Rowland’s 13 goals this season lead his team, while he is only one point out of the Oilers lead in points.
3rd Star of the Week – Luke Lavery (F) – Nanaimo Clippers
Lavery collected six points in two games last week, picking up a goal and five assists.
The fifth-year BCHL veteran had a two-assist game in a 5-1 win over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs last Friday, but his best performance of the week came the following night when he recorded four points (one goal, three assists) in a 6-4 defeat against the Coquitlam Express.
Lavery is currently fourth in Clippers team scoring, with 25 points in 30 games.
